Introducing Gemini: The Evolution of Google’s AI from Bard to Advanced Collaboration

Discover Gemini, Google's latest leap in AI, offering unprecedented capabilities from personal tutoring to advanced coding.

Google’s Bard, launched last year as a collaborative AI tool, has been rebranded as Gemini, reflecting its evolution into the most advanced model family, Gemini. This rebranding aligns with Google’s mission to provide direct access to cutting-edge AI capabilities. Gemini is already available in over 40 languages across more than 230 countries, with the introduction of Gemini Advanced and a mobile application enhancing user interaction with Google AI.

Gemini Advanced

This new service tier features Ultra 1.0, described as the largest and most advanced AI model, surpassing other chatbots in preference among users. It excels in complex tasks such as coding, logical reasoning, and creative collaborations, offering deeper conversations and contextual understanding. Gemini Advanced aims to support personal tutoring, advanced coding assistance, and creative content generation, with plans to expand its features, including multimodal capabilities and interactive coding functions. It is accessible in over 150 countries in English, with more languages to be added.

Google One AI Premium Plan

Gemini Advanced is part of this plan, priced at $19.99/month, including a two-month free trial. Subscribers get the best of Google AI, 2TB storage, and future integration of Gemini in Google Workspace applications. Google emphasizes a responsible approach to AI development, incorporating safety measures and bias mitigation in line with their AI Principles.

Mobile Accessibility

Responding to user demand for mobile access, Google introduces a Gemini app for Android and integration into the Google app on iOS. This mobile version allows for typing, talking, or image inputs for assistance on-the-go, marking a step towards creating a comprehensive AI assistant. On Android, Gemini integrates with Google Assistant for an overlay experience, supporting voice commands and smart device control. iOS users will access Gemini through the Google app, enhancing creativity and productivity.

The rollout begins in the U.S. in English, with plans to expand to Japanese, Korean, and additional languages and countries. This expansion signifies Google’s commitment to making advanced AI more accessible and useful in daily tasks and creative endeavours.
