Aldi and Team GB have announced in a historic way that their dynamic cooperation would continue until 2032. With this move, Aldi has demonstrated its serious commitment to helping British sportsmen participate in several Olympic cycles, which will include the 2030 Winter Olympics in Brisbane, the Paris 2024 Olympics, the Milan-Cortina Winter Games in 2026, Los Angeles 2028, and Los Angeles 2028.
Ten Years of Commitment
Aldi is firmly ingrained in the British Olympic objectives, having proudly served as Team GB’s Official Supermarket since 2015. Aldi’s strong investment in the country’s athletic and health excellence is further reinforced by this extended commitment, which brings the partnership to an amazing 17 years.
Fueling Up to Become Future Champions
A key component of the collaboration is Aldi’s ongoing assistance with programmes like the monthly food vouchers for athletes, which guarantee that the dietary requirements of more than 1,000 athletes are satisfied as they get ready for international competition.
As they prepare for the 2024 Olympics in Paris, this programme helps well-known athletes including weightlifter Emily Campbell and Olympic medallists Max Whitlock and Helen Glover.
Teaching the Future Generation
With the “Get Set to Eat Fresh” campaign, Aldi and Team GB have made great strides in encouraging young people to lead healthy lifestyles outside of the top levels of competitive sport.
Children in the UK between the ages of 5 and 14 are the target audience for this educational programme, which equips them with the knowledge and skills necessary to make affordable, nutritious meals. With more than 2.6 million youth reached thus far, the programme is expected to affect three million by the end of 2024.
Similar Visions and Values
“Our commitment to ensuring that quality, nutritious food is accessible to everyone resonates strongly with Team GB’s ethos,” said Kyrsten Halley, Marketing Director at Aldi UK, expressing excitement for the expanded collaboration. Through our collaborative efforts, we want to encourage even more children to choose healthy lifestyles.
In a same vein, Team GB’s Commercial Director, Tim Ellerton, recognised Aldi’s critical role in helping British athletes. Aldi’s model of becoming a strong, focused brand is exactly in line with what Team GB wants to achieve. Through this agreement, we are able to assist our athletes and provide them the tools they need to encourage sport and fitness in future generations,” he said.
Forward-Looking
The strengthened collaboration between Aldi and Team GB is expected to have a significant impact on how Britain’s athletes train and perform as the 2024 Summer Olympics approach. The ongoing partnership holds great promise for the athletes and the communities they inspire, demonstrating the strength of common objectives and encouragement in producing exceptional outcomes on and off the pitch.
