ITV’s Game-Changing Tool: How ‘Kerching’ is Set to Save You Big on Your Online Shopping

ITV has unveiled its latest venture, ‘ITV Kerching,’ a consumer-facing affiliate marketing brand designed to help online shoppers save money. Launched as a browser extension, ITV Kerching simplifies the process of finding and applying discount codes across hundreds of online retailers, making it easier for consumers to get the best price for their purchases.

Powered by technology from Kindred, the tool searches for, applies, and redeems discount codes with minimal effort when users visit retailer websites. ITV Kerching can be accessed through the ITVX website and mobile app, helping users automatically find the best available discounts without the hassle of searching manually.

Research by ITV found that 87% of ITVX viewers shop online at least once a month, with 79% already using discount codes or vouchers. However, nearly half of the viewers who don’t regularly use discount codes cited not knowing where to look as a major barrier. ITV Kerching aims to solve this issue by doing the heavy lifting for consumers, making it easier for them to save money while shopping online.

The launch of ITV Kerching will be supported by a comprehensive marketing campaign across ITV’s linear channels, ITVX, social media, and email marketing. As part of the partnership with Kindred, ITV is investing £8.5 million in advertising space across its channels in exchange for a minority equity stake in the company.

Kelly Williams, ITV’s Managing Director of Commercial, said: “ITV has a long history of championing personal finance and consumer affairs through our programming. The launch of ITV Kerching is brilliant news for our viewers. With consumers making more of an effort to save money, this tech scours the internet for discounts and presents them to customers on the sites where they shop.”

Mike Gadd, Founder & COO of Kindred, added: “We are thrilled to embark on this visionary and strategic journey with ITV. Together, we will create an unparalleled, immersive experience that sets a new standard for digital interaction.”

ITV’s move into affiliate marketing represents a strategic investment as it seeks to replace some of the advertising revenue lost to the rise of streaming platforms. The partnership allows ITV to earn commission when users make purchases through Kerching, with advertisers also able to create exclusive offers for the platform.

With over 100,000 merchants in Kindred’s network, the platform offers measurable results, shifting from traditional brand awareness campaigns to more conversion-focused outcomes. This retail media push is setting a new precedent for how broadcasters can actively engage in consumer purchasing decisions, blending entertainment with practical savings solutions for consumers.
