Aer Lingus Brings #HomeAdvantage to Irish Rugby Fans Ahead of 2025 Six Nations

Aer Lingus is once again partnering with the Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) to bring #HomeAdvantage to the Guinness Men’s Six Nations Championship in 2025. The airline, which has long been the Official Airline of the IRFU, will support the Ireland team’s travel to away fixtures in Scotland, Wales, and Italy, while also ensuring that Irish fans can join them in force.

As Ireland aims for a third consecutive Six Nations title, Aer Lingus will fly the team to Edinburgh for the opening clash with Scotland on 9th February, then to Cardiff for the match against Wales on 22nd February, and finally to Rome for the showdown with Italy on 15th March. The airline’s support extends beyond the team to Ireland’s loyal supporters, with additional flights to help fans get to the games and witness the action up close.

In a bid to meet the demand from Irish fans, Aer Lingus and its regional partner, Aer Lingus Regional (operated by Emerald Airlines), have added extra flights to key match destinations. Passengers can take advantage of increased services between Dublin and Cardiff, and new routes from Cork to Bristol, making it easier for supporters to catch the game at the iconic Principality Stadium. Likewise, flights from both Dublin and Cork to Edinburgh will give fans an opportunity to cheer Ireland on in Murrayfield for the Scotland game.

Notably, Aer Lingus has also launched direct flights from Cork to Rome, with services set to operate on 14th and 16th March, catering to those making the trip to the Stadio Olimpico for the final away game of the campaign.

2025 marks a significant milestone for Aer Lingus, with the airline celebrating its tenth year as the official travel partner of the IRFU. Over the past decade, Aer Lingus has flown both the men’s and women’s teams to their Six Nations fixtures and other international competitions, reinforcing its long-standing commitment to Irish rugby.

This year’s campaign also sees Aer Lingus IRFU ambassadors Caelan Doris, Josh van der Flier, Tadhg Furlong, and Robbie Henshaw, who took part in a special event at Dublin Airport this week. Henshaw met with Aer Lingus staff and cabin crew, ahead of the team’s upcoming departure for their first match on 1st February at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium.

Robbie Henshaw, reflecting on the partnership, said: “The Ireland supporters are truly incredible, and we deeply appreciate their unwavering support both at home and away. As we approach the 2025 Guinness Men’s Six Nations, we are thrilled to once again have the backing of Aer Lingus. Their exceptional hospitality and efforts to make us feel comfortable before our games are invaluable.”

Aer Lingus’ Chief Customer Officer, Susanne Carberry, added: “Ireland rugby fans are expected to travel in their thousands to support the Ireland men’s team in one of this year’s most exciting sporting events. At Aer Lingus, we are proud to say ‘You’re very welcome’ to the team’s dedicated supporters who bring #HomeAdvantage to the team’s away games. As we enter the tenth year of our partnership with the IRFU, we wish the team, management, coaches, and our ambassadors Caelan, Robbie, Tadhg, and Josh the best of luck, and we look forward to welcoming them onboard.”

As excitement builds for the 2025 Six Nations, Aer Lingus is not just a proud sponsor of the Irish rugby team but a key enabler for fans and players alike, making the home advantage felt wherever they travel. With new flights and continued support, the airline is ensuring that the journey to victory is a shared one, from the skies to the stands.
