The BBC has launched a powerful new campaign, “The Fight for Truth,” highlighting its global efforts to combat disinformation and reinforce its role as a trusted source of news. Narrated by Clive Myrie, the 90-second film showcases the critical work of BBC journalists as they navigate the challenges posed by misinformation, from AI deepfakes to pandemic conspiracies.

In a time of widespread falsehoods, the campaign underscores the BBC’s dedication to transparency, fact-checking, and rigorous journalism through its verification team, BBC Verify. The film offers a glimpse into the BBC’s commitment to uncovering the truth and ensuring factual accuracy in a rapidly shifting media landscape.

The narrative unfolds across three distinct sections: the chaos created by disinformation, the relentless efforts of BBC reporters to verify the facts, and a defiant conclusion that reaffirms the organisation’s pursuit of truth. As Myrie puts it, “The more you try to drown out reality, the harder we’ll work to establish the facts.”

Featuring renowned BBC journalists like Lyse Doucet, Fiona Bruce, and Orla Guerin, the campaign goes beyond the film, with digital out-of-home posters, radio spots, cinema, and social media activations. The initiative is part of a broader drive to demonstrate how the BBC continues to earn the trust of its audience amidst a rising tide of disinformation.
