Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Nicolai Fuglsig, the campaign blends festive nostalgia with McDonald’s playful charm, creating a unique celebration of taking a well-deserved break amidst the Christmas chaos.

The 60-second advert follows a couple navigating the stress of holiday preparations, from crowded shops to endless gift-wrapping. Their escape? A glowing McDonald’s drive-thru, brought to life by an extravagant light show set to Benny Benassi’s Satisfaction.
As the couple drives through a suburban neighbourhood, viewers are treated to a spectacular display: homes adorned with ribbons, inflatable Christmas characters lining the streets, and a tower block lit up to reveal the layers of a Big Mac®. Iconic McDonald’s characters also make an unforgettable return in neon form—Grimace, Birdie, and the Hamburglar dazzle as giant, dancing Christmas lights.
