Pandora, the world’s largest jewellery brand, has earned a coveted spot on Corporate Knights’ prestigious 2025 Global 100 Most Sustainable Companies list, unveiled at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. This recognition follows an exhaustive evaluation of over 8,350 companies worldwide, each with a revenue exceeding USD 1 billion, and focuses on a range of sustainability metrics, including environmental impact and corporate governance.
Ranked 48th overall and second in the “Textiles, Apparel and Luxury Goods” sector, Pandora’s sustainability efforts have been firmly acknowledged. The company’s commitment to sustainable practices, including its use of 100% recycled silver and gold in all jewellery, and its innovative Pandora Lab-Grown Diamonds, which boast a carbon footprint 95% smaller than that of mined diamonds, were highlighted as key contributors to the accolade.
Speaking from Davos, Mads Twomey-Madsen, Pandora’s SVP of Global Communications and Sustainability, expressed the company’s pride in this achievement: “To be recognised as one of the most sustainable companies for the first time by Corporate Knights is a testament to our ambitious sustainability goals and the real progress we’ve made. We believe that high-quality jewellery, strong business performance, and ethical standards go hand in hand. Our jewellery is crafted with care for resources, the environment, and people.”
Environmental Excellence and Corporate Responsibility
Corporate Knights also commended Pandora for its remarkable environmental performance. Over the past five years, the company has drastically reduced its CO2 emissions while achieving impressive organic growth. All of Pandora’s crafting facilities now operate on 100% renewable energy, and the company has also achieved an outstanding 99.8% waste recycling rate across its operations.
Pandora’s dedication to sustainable revenue—through eco-friendly products like recycled materials and lab-grown diamonds—was another highlight in the ranking, alongside its commitment to gender diversity and employee safety. With four women on a seven-member board, Pandora leads in promoting diversity within its leadership. The company also maintains a lost-time injury rate of just 0.3 per 200,000 hours, a testament to its focus on workplace safety.
What Makes the Global 100 Most Sustainable Companies List?
Since its inception in 2005, the Global 100 has become one of the world’s most respected and transparent sustainability ratings. The list is built upon a set of rigorous performance indicators, assessing companies across resource management, employee relations, financial management, and sustainable investments. To qualify, companies must demonstrate a significant, measurable impact in reducing their carbon footprints and creating long-term sustainable business solutions. Firms involved in activities such as blocking climate policies or deforestation are automatically disqualified, ensuring only those truly committed to sustainable practices make the cut.
