Sky Sports Joins Forces with Movember to Raise Men’s Health Awareness

Sky Sports has teamed up with global men’s health charity Movember in a bold new campaign aimed at raising awareness and funds for crucial issues such as mental health, suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer. The collaboration, developed with London-based agency Bicycle, will feature prominent Sky Sports personalities and run across multiple platforms, ensuring broad visibility throughout the UK.

The campaign, designed to encourage participation beyond just growing a moustache, will showcase the various ways people can support the cause. From moving 60km during November to hosting events or taking on personal challenges, there are numerous ways for men, women, and families to get involved. Movember has long championed men’s health, funding more than 1,300 projects globally since its inception in 2003, and this new partnership with Sky Sports aims to inspire even greater participation.

At the heart of the campaign are Sky Sports presenters Simon Thomas, Pete Graves, Clinton Morrison, and Hayley McQueen, who will feature in a series of four bespoke 30-second TV spots. These commercials, along with digital and social media content, will showcase exclusive interviews and moustache-growing efforts by Thomas and Graves. Throughout the month, viewers can follow their moustache progress, bringing a light-hearted yet impactful approach to the serious issues Movember addresses.

Karin Seymour, Director of Client & Marketing at Sky Media, emphasised the importance of using Sky’s platform to ignite action: “Our partnership with Movember goes beyond a typical campaign; we’re engaging millions of viewers in meaningful conversations about men’s health. With top Sky Sports talent like Simon and Pete leading by example, we aim to inspire people across the UK to grow, donate, and ultimately make a lasting impact.”

Movember’s UK and Europe Country Director, Anne-Cécile Berthier, expressed her excitement about the collaboration: “We are thrilled to work with Sky Media to bring Movember’s mission to millions of viewers. Our work is dedicated to improving men’s health, and we can’t do it without the support of our global community. Whether you’re growing a Mo, taking on a challenge, or hosting an event, we want everyone to get involved this Movember.”

The campaign will be visible across all Sky platforms, including video-on-demand (VOD), social media, and TV, ensuring widespread reach. Co-branded ‘Sky Sports Presents’ idents will be part of the creative playout, alongside digital editorial content designed to keep audiences engaged throughout the month.

Movember has become synonymous with men’s health advocacy and raising awareness of issues that often go unnoticed. As the campaign kicks off in 2024, Sky Sports and Movember are urging people to take part, reminding everyone that you don’t have to grow a moustache to make a difference—you can save a bro in countless other ways.

With this powerful collaboration, Sky Sports and Movember hope to inspire action across the UK, reinforcing the importance of health, awareness, and community support.
